Meet the Trainer

My name is Naomi, and I have been a professional dog trainer for 6 years. I founded Fox Dog Training LLC in the beginning of 2021 after graduating, when I obtained my Bachelor’s of Science in Animal Behavior through the Center for the Integrative Study of Animal Behavior at Indiana University. I am always continuing my education through seminars, workshops, and courses with experts, and by staying up to date on the latest behavioral and dog related science in research publications.

In addition to dog training, I work with my dogs to support environmental conservation efforts as a conservation detection dog handler. My dogs and I spend the spring, summer, and fall seasons detecting data with their noses, which I collect to support conservation efforts.

I currently compete in dog sports with my rough collie, Little Elio, and my belgian shepherd, Fizzgig. We primarily compete in agility, obedience, and nosework. Fizzgig has dreams of herding as well.

  • Group classes have a set rate, which differs between Bloomington and Beech Grove - and privates vary depending on your needs. Email me for a quote.

  • It totally depends on both you and your dog! While it may take a long time to reach difficult goals, upon implementing the plan we put in place you should see some immediate improvements.

  • Definitely not! While your dog’s body may not be able to do what it used to, their mind is still flexible. If your dog is very elderly, their learning process my be slowed but it is always possible to teach an old dog new tricks.
